About Us

I am a native New Mexican, born and raised in Santa Fe. I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico in 1977, and a Juris Doctorate in 1983. I graduated ninth in my class and received the Faculty Award and was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honor reserved for those with high academic achievement. I also received a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM), Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Alabama. I have an AV peer review rating by Martindale Hubbell, which is the highest rating available (Legal ability-very high to preeminent, ethics – very high). I am listed in the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers for 2007-through the current year. 

I am named as a Southwest Super Lawyer in the area of Business Law.   I was also selected as the 2011 Business Lawyer of the Year by the Business Law Section of the New Mexico State Bar Association.

I am active in various professional organizations including Past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tax Section of the New Mexico State Bar Association, and past member of the Business Law Section Board of Directors. I am a member of the New Mexico State Society of Certified Public Accountants (Past Member -Ethics Committee), the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. I served on the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission-Corporations Bureau Advisory Committee, and the New Mexico Public Regulation Title Insurance Task Force.

I am admitted to practice before the following courts:

I am also licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New Mexico.
